FLYING
I'm a low hours PPL, flying from Sleap EGCV. I've spent many a lunchbreak wishing I'd brought my planning kit so I decided to write a little spreadsheet to allow me to ponder the possibilities when it looks good out of the window. It appears to work now so, if you can run excel you can play as well,

You'll need to enable macros to get the most out of it.
If you're still training or prefer the traditional methods you'll be using the infamous CRP-1 circular sliderule and I may be able to help you here too.

I bought a cheap headset from ebay in the full knowledge it had a microphone fault. It was, as predicted, a cable fault, not an open circuit as I thought but a short to ground over a long length. If I shortened the cable my passengers would have their head on the panel so a new cable was required. A look through RS and Maplin catalogues didn't show anything identical so in the end it got replaced by a length of computer USB cable. Given it was only four core I had to dump the stereo option. No big deal on the aircraft I fly! The cable between the switch and the plug was intact so I didn't have to source a new plug, just join the wires up in the switch box.
