What's this all about?

This was my first attempt to build a heavyweight fighting robot for Robot Wars and similar competitions. Actually it was my first attempt to build any robot, any radio controlled device, any electric vehicle etc. I do however have an engineering background, in vehicle brake design…. Very useful I’m sure. I also have a good garage, lathe, pillar drill, MIG welder and loads of other tools I can never find when I need them, so I should be the ideal Roboteer.I hope this site will give you all the inspiration you need to have a go and also try to answer all the basic questions I couldn't find on other peoples sites.
